Special Celebration
Many congratulations to Mrs Ena Wyn (from Llanelian) who celebrated her 100th birthday this month! We understood from Mrs Wyn's family (John and Sue) that there was a big party organized in Llanelian hall as she had contributed so much to her community over the years, not only as a native of the area but also as a county council representative. Many remember Mrs Wyn as the head teacher of the infant section of Llanrwst primary school - which was called Watling Street School during her day. A small party was prepared at the Care Home to celebrate Ena's special birthday, and we understand that she received well over a hundred birthday cards which is evidence of her popularity.
Welcome
We would like to welcome Mrs Margaret Ann Evans (Blaenau Ffestiniog) and Mrs Annette Roberts (Colwyn Bay) as new residents to our Care Home. Mr Medwyn Jones (Penrhyndraedraeth) and Mr David Jones (Llanelian) also spent time with us in the Care Home before they returned home.
Holidays
A number of staff at the Home were on holiday during the month. Mark Kendall (maintenance) was in Spain, and our Nurse Jeevan Jyoti was in Birmingham with her family while our senior Nurse Kelsey Edwards spent a week camping. Our carer Nicola Ellis enjoyed time with her husband Aled at the Royal Welsh Show and our Nursing Manager Meryl Welsby a week in Malta. Our carers Bethan Evans and Kasia Dudziak spent the holidays at home enjoying the nice weather. It's nice to have everyone back to work now.
Condolences
We would like to offer our condolences to the families and friends of the late Miss Elizabeth Bird (Prestatyn), Miss Brenda Mills (Cerrigydrudion) and Mrs Wendy Bolden (Pentrefoelas) who will be greatly missed in the Home.
Greetings
Mrs Lena Jones (Blaenau Ffestiniog), Mrs Elizabeth Thornton (Pwllheli) and Miss Lillian Grace Easom (Pwllheli) celebrated their birthdays during the month. Many thanks to the Home Cooks for organizing a party and gifts for every occasion.
Nice Weather
Many of our residents were out during the warm weather - enjoying afternoon tea on the lawn or going for a walk in the Village.
Training
Many congratulations to our senior Nurse Kelsey Edwards (Llangernyw) who has successfully completed her star course in 'end of life' care. Good luck also to our carer Sunitha who has just started her NVQ level 2 course in health and social care through Coleg Cambria.
